get lost!

this week, i was shocked by the comment of a previously close friend.
i was once again ranting about the ridiculous obsessions of emo teenage children with myspace. this so-called friend then asked why I enjoyed the world of blogging and after giving them a variety of reasons, they proceeded to confront me with the most abusive statement i have ever heard.

"but blogging is just the same as having a myspace."

no, it is not.

here are some reasons, it is a scientific fact:

1) The average age and IQ of a myspacer are generally equal. a blogger's IQ usually goes by the formulae "IQ = 135 + Months on Blogger"

2) A blogger does not write a list of, on average, 495 interests in the hope that their soulmate will track them down by incredibly matching up to 83% of them. some of the things people are "interested" in include: movies, music, talking with friends. really narrows it down.

3) Bloggers do not have bands as friends.

I then continued to surf the net, and came across some studies which in my mind, clarified the situation.

Amen brother.

MySpace sucks.

Blogs rule.

But where does Facebook fit in? I think somewhere close to MySpace.

facebook didnt even make the graphs. let alone my post.

can someone please explain to me the attraction of these sites which pride themselves on self-exposure and gossip?

i would far rather spend my time reading God's word than listening to some lamo (yes, i went there) telling me about how great his life is on myspace.

Things that are far more worthwhile than myspace/facebook.

- Cleaning Fish
- Watching Oprah
- Actually taking advice from Dr Phil [he is not a real Doctor people!]
- Watching Paint dry
- Watching grass grow [I'm not talking about cricket]
- Becoming an Environmentalist [yes, I also went there]

myspace's main function is to create, fear and doubt in young people!

And being "friends" with a band is similar to being friends with your toilet seat! They both have a specific purpose, they may bring you immense joy. But why would you want to be best friends with them?

myspace is only there for spading. so all of you can shut up and let us unfortunate looking people with not enough creativity to write something in a blog get on with sending short semi-humerous comments to chicks we think are a bit of alright, although we know deep down we have a better chance hooking up with chris marson.
kenno out.
